Ty Mawr Hotel, Harlech - Katie & Arfon

What a beautiful day for a drive to the west coast of Wales. The sun was shining. It was boiling... and the scenery on my trip to Llanbedr, Harlech was stunning. It's not often I get to see Eryri from this angle. Today was the wedding of Katie & Arfon, which was to take place at St Peters Church, Llanbedr, followed by their reception at the nearby Ty Mawr Hotel.

But first, wedding preparation at "Nia's house" (Katie's friend) with all of the bridal party. Today I had the company of Paul Cockerill Films, so it was great to bounce ideas, especially with Paul being relatively local to the area. The morning consisted of interaction, detailed photo's of the dress, hair and make up and the overall great vibe.

After a beautiful and emotional dress reveal to the bridesmaids, I departed, ahead of the bridal party, for St Peters Church to meet the gents for some group photo's and for Katie's arrival. The ceremony could commence.

Congratulations to the newlyweds - the celebrations could begin. Guests continued on to the Ty Mawr Hotel for the drinks reception, whilst myself, the videographer, Katie, Arfon and the kids detoured to the stunning "Zig Zag Beach", with it's unreal backdrop of Western Eryri (Snowdonia National Park) and the coastline. I was in my element here. Although, I wasn't having to stand around in the searing heat in a 3 piece suit or wedding dress, so I had to be quick.

Onward to the Ty Mawr Hotel and guests were all settled with drinks in their hands as well as a buffet. Sadly though, I had to disrupt their peace for group photographs on a bridge across the road. It really was a beautiful location. The rest of the time was spent capturing natural moments of guests enjoying the celebrations.

The afternoon and evening was great - one big celebration complete with bucking sheep and food vans. With no breaks for a formal sit down meal and speeches, it really was a nice opportunity to capture guests having fun.

Katie & Arfon did opt for a traditional cutting of the cake photo, before the DJ began his set, complete with laser show.
