Lisa & Simon’s wedding at Plas Isaf Wedding Barns was one of those days where everything just clicked into place. The conditions were perfect from start to finish, the atmosphere stayed relaxed throughout, and Plas Isaf delivered exactly what makes it one of the standout barn wedding venues in North Wales.

Set in the hills near Corwen, Plas Isaf Wedding Barns combines countryside views, converted barn spaces and open surroundings that work perfectly for natural, documentary-style wedding photography.

Wedding Prep at the Wooden Lodge

Prep started in the wooden lodge on-site, keeping everything relaxed and close to the main venue. The morning focused on interaction, reactions and the build-up to the ceremony rather than anything overly staged.

Hair and makeup were handled by Anna Baxter and Siobhan Williams, while flowers from Bloomingdels and the dress from Karen Lesley tied everything together naturally.

One of the standout moments from the morning was the flower girl wearing Lisa’s shoes while dressed in the bridesmaid outfit, alongside a relaxed reveal with family before heading down towards the venue where Lisa’s dad saw her for the first time.

Grooms Prep & Venue Setup

Over at the barn, Simon and the groomsmen were fitting buttonholes before a few quick solo and group shots before guests arrived.

The setup around Plas Isaf looked strong throughout the day, making full use of the barn interiors and surrounding countryside.

Ceremony at Plas Isaf Wedding Barns

The ceremony took place inside the main barn at Plas Isaf, with live piano adding to the atmosphere as guests arrived.

Entrance, vows, rings and the exit all flowed naturally, with balcony photographs giving a different perspective across the ceremony space. During the register signing there was time for a few extra family frames with witnesses and their sons before heading back outside.

Confetti, Drinks Reception & Portraits

Confetti and the main group photo followed after the ceremony, before guests moved into the drinks reception.

We kept the couple shoot to around 15–20 minutes, making the most of the grounds and countryside views around Plas Isaf without taking Lisa & Simon away from guests for too long. Group photos followed while guests relaxed around the venue.

Wedding Breakfast & Speeches

Speeches took place before the wedding breakfast, which always helps keep the atmosphere moving early into the evening.

Alongside the speeches, smaller details like the flowers, rings and bouquet charm all added to the overall story of the day. The cake, made by Lisa’s mum, also added a more personal touch to the setup.

Evening at Plas Isaf

After food there was time for cake cutting, remaining group photos and a short evening shoot as the light started to drop across the hills around Corwen.

The evening finished with the first dance and a packed floor, alongside entertainment from Picture Blast keeping guests busy throughout the night.

From start to finish, this was a wedding that never slowed down—great conditions, strong people, and one of the best countryside wedding venues in North Wales.
