Emily and Aidyn celebrated their wedding at Pentre Mawr Country House, one of my favourite wedding venues in North Wales. Nestled in the countryside not too far from the town on Denbigh, Pentre Mawr offers exclusive-use grounds, characterful buildings and a relaxed atmosphere that works perfectly for natural, documentary-style wedding photography. With beautiful weather and plenty of space for guests to enjoy the day, it was the ideal setting for a memorable celebration.

Preparations began in the venue's charming Bridal Cottage, where the morning centred around genuine interaction, meaningful details and anticipation ahead of the ceremony. Final alterations with family, a dress reveal with the wedding party and grandad, and hair and makeup by No Loose Ends by Amy and Emily Flora created plenty of moments worth capturing.

Meanwhile, Aidyn and the gents gathered outside on the grounds for relaxed group portraits before guests began to arrive.

The ceremony took place outdoors, making the most of Pentre Mawr's stunning surroundings. Following the entrance, vows, exchange of rings and first kiss, guests celebrated with confetti before gathering for the main group photograph.

During the drinks reception, guests enjoyed the sunshine while Emily Harpist provided the soundtrack to the afternoon. Emily and Aidyn stepped away briefly for a couples shoot around the grounds, including photographs with their dogs, before family group photographs and a look around the beautifully styled reception space.

The "Prosecco race" was a great moment to photograph although I nearly got taken out by the bridesmaids. The wedding breakfast, catered by Marc Macauley, featured staggered speeches that kept the atmosphere relaxed and engaging throughout.

As the evening unfolded, guests enjoyed pizza from Bonni's, entertainment from Dan Porter, and a packed dance floor following the first dance. Before the celebrations continued, we also managed to create some dramatic evening portraits and silhouettes around the venue.

Pentre Mawr continues to be one of the standout wedding venues in North Wales. From the exclusive setting and countryside views to the flexibility it offers throughout the day, it's a venue that consistently delivers incredible opportunities for wedding photography.
