Lauren & Jack’s wedding at Stanford Farm was one of those days that just worked from start to finish. Set in the countryside near Shrewsbury, Stanford Farm is a purpose-built wedding venue with open views, clean outdoor ceremony spaces, and a relaxed layout that suits documentary-style coverage.
From the moment I arrived through to the final shots in the evening, everything ran smoothly. The weather held, the atmosphere stayed consistent, and it made for a solid day of natural coverage.

Wedding Prep at the Farmhouse
Prep took place on-site at the farmhouse, keeping everything close and easy to manage. The focus was on interaction and the build-up to the ceremony—nothing forced, just real moments.
Hair and makeup were handled by Sophie Ensor and Loren Barlow, with final adjustments and a couple of key reveal moments before heading over to the ceremony space.

Grooms Prep & Venue Setup
Jack and the groomsmen were getting ready in the double decker—something a bit different that worked well for a mix of solo and group shots. Buttonholes on, jackets sorted, and straight into a few quick frames before guests arrived.
Around the venue, décor and setup were already in place, making the most of the outdoor space that Stanford Farm is known for.

Outdoor Ceremony at Stanford Farm
The ceremony took place outside, making full use of the venue’s grounds. Entrance, vows, rings and exit all flowed naturally, with a quick moment for a family frame during the register signing.
Following the ceremony, a confetti aisle was prepared next to the pagoda—one of the strongest spots at the venue for both movement and clean backgrounds—leading straight into the main group shot.

Drinks Reception & Portraits
The drinks reception gave guests time to relax - We kept the couple shoot to around 10–15 minutes, using the open space around the farm without overcomplicating anything. Group photos followed, keeping things efficient and organised. We even managed to incorporate Smoke Grenades into the Bridal Party Group Photo's, which looked great against the black barn walls.

Wedding Breakfast & Speeches
The entrance was sheer chaos, for all the right reasons!!! The BBQ wedding breakfast which followed, kept things informal, with speeches following. Reactions across the room, combined with details like the flowers from The Florist Shrewsbury and cake by Cakes by Harley, all added to the overall story.

Evening at Stanford Farm
Free time allowed for a short evening shoot as the light dropped—one of the advantages of a venue like Stanford Farm with open surroundings and no distractions. Except for Jack being launched into the air by the Groomsmen - a great moment.
The evening finished with cake cutting, followed by the first dance and a packed dance floor with music from DJ Dozzer and sax from Soren.

Planning a Wedding at Stanford Farm
If you’re planning a wedding at Stanford Farm or anywhere near Shrewsbury, it’s a venue that works well for relaxed, natural wedding photography with plenty of space and flexibility throughout the day.
