Kara & Sion’s wedding at Soughton Hall was one of those days where everything came together naturally. The weather stayed perfect from start to finish, the atmosphere never dropped, and Soughton Hall delivered exactly what it’s known for—strong interiors, clean outdoor space, and one of the best manor house wedding venues in North Wales.
Set near Mold in the Flintshire countryside, Soughton Hall combines historic architecture with modern wedding spaces, giving plenty of variety for natural, documentary-style wedding photography throughout the day.

Wedding Prep at Soughton Hall
Prep took place on-site, keeping everything relaxed and easy to manage. The morning focused on interaction, reactions, and the natural build-up to the ceremony rather than anything staged.
Hair and makeup were handled by Anna Baxter and Beauty on the Square, while the dress from Along Came Eve and flowers by Firth Flock Flowers tied everything together without overcomplicating the setup.

Grooms Prep & Venue Setup
Downstairs, Sion and the groomsmen were getting ready with jackets, buttonholes and a few quick solo and group shots before guests arrived. One of the standout moments from the morning was Sion attaching his Taid’s buttonhole—a simple moment that carried real meaning.
Suits from Trefor Jones worked perfectly with the style of the venue and the overall look of the day.

Ceremony at Soughton Hall
With the weather holding, the ceremony setup made the most of the grounds at Soughton Hall. Entrance, vows, rings and the exit all flowed naturally, while live vocals from Cari Pearce during the register signing added something extra to the atmosphere.

Confetti, Drinks Reception & Portraits
Confetti outside led straight into the drinks reception, with guests relaxing across the grounds while we moved through candid coverage and group photos.
We kept the couple shoot efficient at around 15–20 minutes, using the driveway, the exterior of the hall and the Blue & Gold Room for variety without taking them away from guests for too long.
One of the highlights from the afternoon was the surprise car brought along for portraits—something completely different that worked perfectly against the backdrop of Soughton Hall.

Wedding Breakfast & Speeches
Before guests were called in, we headed upstairs for a few extra portraits around the hall before moving into the wedding breakfast and speeches.
Throughout the day I also had the chance to work alongside Matthew Lloyd Film, who kept things relaxed and easy to work around from start to finish.

Evening at Soughton Hall
As the light dropped, we headed outside briefly for a short evening shoot before moving back inside for the final part of the day.
The evening finished with live music from The Three Strikes through The Function Hub, alongside a packed dance floor and photobooth coverage from Event Lounge.
From start to finish, this was a day that never slowed down—great weather, a strong group of people, and a venue that consistently delivers for weddings in North Wales.
