Wynnstay Ruabon - Lucy & Louie | North Wales Wedding Photographer

Lucy & Louie’s wedding took place at Wynnstay Arms, right in the centre of Ruabon near Wrexham. The Wynnstay Arms is a well-known North Wales wedding venue, combining a traditional coaching inn feel with modern function spaces—ideal for a full wedding day in one location.

Prep at Home

The morning started at Lucy’s parents’ home, focusing on real moments and interactions rather than anything staged. Details, prep, and final adjustments all built naturally into the story of the day.

Makeup was handled by Katie Jones alongside Hair by Steph of House of Hair, keeping everything running to time before heading to the venue. A quick reveal with family finished this part of the morning before leaving for Ruabon.

Ceremony at Wynnstay Ruabon

The ceremony took place in the function room at the Wynnstay Arms. Louie was waiting patiently with his Best Man, for Lucy's arrival. The Decor looked great inside with the big 'LOVE ' letters keeping the focus where it should be. The big entrance was beautiful and emotional with vows, rings and the exit, all captured as they happened without interruption.

Confetti & Drinks Reception

Confetti took place in the main archway outside of the Wynnstay, to start off the drinks reception. Lucy, Louie and I, kept the couple shoot to around 10-15 minutes - quick, natural, and without taking them away from the day for too long. We utilised the stunning Vintage Campervan provided by Hilltop Classics. A few frames with the dog added something personal before moving into group photos.

Wedding Breakfast & Speeches

Guests were called in for the wedding breakfast, with speeches following. Reactions across the room, combined with details like the flowers from Inspirations Florist and the cake by Bake U a Cake, all added to the coverage.

Evening at Wynnstay Arms

Free time allowed for a short low-light shoot before heading into the evening reception. We headed into the nearby woods as the setting sun broke through the tree canopy, for some lovely scenery.

The day finished with cake cutting and the first dance, with music and lighting again handled by Marleys Magical Creations (who decorated the main ceremony) - a solid way to round off the coverage.

Planning a Wynnstay Arms Wedding in Ruabon

If you’re planning a wedding at Wynnstay Arms or anywhere in North Wales, it’s a venue that works well for relaxed, documentary-style coverage with everything in one place.
