Tower, Mold - Nic & Rob

I love weddings that offer something a bit different from 'the norm'. Today, Nic and Rob married in the woodlands at the amazing 'Tower' in Mold. Not only are these guys great (as were their guests), but their wedding included a woodland ceremony, axe throwing, line dancing, live country music (I'm a big fan) and some tractor thrill rides. The day was vibrant, fun, picturesque, laid back and everything I consider a breath of fresh air. Plus, the Tower is pretty cool!

"Tower is a magnificent 15th Century traditional Country House in the Welsh countryside offering bed & breakfast and a stylish place to host a special event" (https://tower.wales/). Keep reading for an insight.

The morning began at the 'Stable Cottage' on the Tower grounds, with Nic and her bridal party. I took the opportunity to use the nearby gardens to hang the dress and position these amazing 'cowgirl' boots, for photo's, whilst flitting indoors to capture the interaction of Nic with her Bridesmaids.

The ceremony took place in the woods a short walk from the Tower and the Stable Cottage. Nearby was the tipi, which is where the drinks reception and wedding breakfast took place. All of the grounds in the near vicinity were used for seating area's, a small bar, outside games and a few other surprises.

Rob arrived in style, with the gents. We immediately caught up for some group photo's before they could continue with setting up the reception area.

Meanwhile, Nic was being fitted into her dress whilst the finishing touches took place. Nic's dad waited patiently (looking very cool) on a small bridge which lead to the woodland, whilst Rob and the guests took their positions... before the beautiful ceremony could commence.

Congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs White. The celebrations could begin with "Mingle & Drinks" straight after the ceremony. The kids took advantage of the outdoor games, the adults formed a line at the 'horse box bar' whilst I took Nic & Rob across the fields for photo's back at the Tower. Upon our return, the buffet was served.

I loved how vibrant this wedding looked from the lighting and decor inside the tipi, to the flowers and this beautiful chocolate cake. I took the time to photograph the details of the wedding rings and flowers. Once all of these details were captured and food was devoured, the speeches began and we were in for some great reactions - lots of laughter.

It was "Game time" and we were in for a treat, with some axe throwing.... Nic presented Rob with this gift - a personalised axe, which I thought was very cool. Even though Rob spent time practicing his axe throwing skills, Nic stepped up to the plate and challenged him to a contest...… and succeeded.

With a pause in the axe-throwing, we ventured deeper into the woods for something a little more creative, using off camera flash and some remote triggers, for these lovely results. I then had to scale a ladder for the main group shot... all before the fun could re-commence. This time with a tractor and a bumpy open field.

Meanwhile, back at the woodland...

Nic decided on a costume change in preparation for the evenings 'country' theme. The excellent Country Rocks Band provided the soundtrack for Nic and Rob's first dance which preceded the line dancing. This made for some great moments to add to what was already a great day!

I’d like to wish Nic & Rob a lifetime of happiness. Congratulations to you both and thanks so much for booking Nathan Roberts Photography to capture your special day. I had a lovely day celebrating and capturing your day with wonderful family and friends.
