Hilton Liverpool City Centre - Charlotte & Adam

My 3rd wedding photo shoot in 3 days took me to the Hilton Liverpool City Centre, for Charlotte & Adam's wedding. Although I love my Welsh Country Weddings and the natural backdrops, it's so nice to capture something a little different. The Hilton is located opposite the famous Albert Docks, right next to Liverpool One which offered it's own challenges, working around tourists, vehicles, general street clutter and other general distractions. But there were way more positives that contributed to the photo's, such as the textures, shapes and colours of the urban landscape.

My coverage began at the Hilton, with Charlotte and her Bridal Party who were having their hair and makeup applied, by Dolly Mix of Liverpool. I utilised this time to capture the details such as the flowers, the dress and shoes etc as well as plenty of interaction, before meeting up with Adam and the gents for some group photo's.

The venue was styled and decorated by the amazing Cover Story. They did an amazing job of the ceremony room, which was later turned around for the wedding breakfast. Soon after, Charlotte was fitted into her dress before an emotional dress reveal to her Dad, then the bridesmaids. With Adam and the guests now in position, the ceremony would soon commence.

The nerves had turned to smiles and the pressure was off. Congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs Elder who joined guests for their drinks reception in the adjoining room. We took the time for group photo's as well as some candid shots of guests embracing the moments.

This sweeping staircase was a great shout for the main group shot. Together with the bridal party and groomsmen, Charlotte, Adam and I all ventured outside to dodge the tourists and shoppers for some landmark photo opportunities. It's amazing how accommodating people can be when they see a Bride and Groom on their wedding day. Everyone dispersed so that we had the LIVERPOOL sign to ourselves, before a stroll over to the docks. With some clever positioning and a little help from AI, I was able to create a relatively distraction free backdrop.

Guests were summoned into the main room for the wedding breakfast, followed by the speeches. I took this time to photograph the flowers and the rings before taking a break myself. Once speeches were out of the way and before the evening guests arrived, we hoped for a break in the wind outside to head back down to the docks.

I was pleased with this Albert Dock landscape shot, complete with modern architecture and carousel, with just Charlotte and Adam enjoying a moment together. Inside the room was set for the evenings reception and the traditions of cutting the cake and the first dance. There was also time for a 'throwing of the bouquet' - It's always good when there's a bit of competitiveness.
