Kinmel Hotel - Kirsty & Anthony

This was the first of many weddings at the Kinmel Hotel over the next few months, and we were treated to some beautiful conditions. It was warm, the skies were blue but there was enough cloud to stop for a little drama in the sky when needed. This was Kirsty & Anthony's big day and I loved every second of working with them.

The mornings coverage began with Kirsty and her bridal party who were getting ready at the venue. I took this time to capture some detail of the venue as well as some interaction whilst they had their hair and makeup done. Incidentally, Kirsty had chosen local suppliers for the day, with Look Fabulous by Sinead for makeup and Lisa, from Caprice in Old Colwyn, for hair. The dress was supplied by the excellent Cariad Bride, just down the road from the Kinmel.

Meanwhile Anthony and the gents had arrived. Once they'd finished adding the buttonholes, I took the opportunity to complete group shots of the groomsmen, to save time during the drinks reception. With both Kirsty & Anthony now on site I was able to flit between them to capture the important moments of the morning before heading across to the ceremony room.

It was an emotional ceremony but a beautiful one nonetheless... Congratulations to the Newlyweds. They've a good set up at the Kinmel, leading straight into the confetti walk, straight from the ceremony, with the main group shot to follow, from the roof. Soon after the drinks reception was under way. Time for some candid photo's of guests interacting and genuinely showing the love, with a handful of breaks for group photo's and a glorious couples shoot with the gardens in full bloom.

With the kitchens ready to serve, guests were called from the lawns for the wedding breakfast. This is where I leave the happy couple for some time whilst everyone enjoys food. My last job before I too take a break is to photograph the rings and the bouquet. It was nice to find a spot outdoors to take advantage of the beautiful blue skies. Then I waited for the announcement for speeches. Also, how cool is the tier of pies (by To-Pie-For) - that is right up my street!

Whilst the staff turned around the room for the evening reception, we ventured back to the gardens for some more photo's in the denser parts with some 'off camera flash'. I love these results. From here, we ventured to a nearby open field with views of the Clwydian (Mountain) Range in the distance under the blue summer skies..
