Quay Hotel - Faye & Aaron

What a glorious morning for Faye & Aaron's wedding. The forecast was very favourable for the day ahead and the drive to the Quay, Deganwy in the glorious summer sunshine had me in a good place. The Quay Hotel is always one of my favourite places to work - "Idyllic scenery and an intimate feel welcome you to The Quay Hotel & Spa. Expansive views across the water to majestic Conwy Castle and an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity await you here" (www.quayhotel.co.uk). Please read on for an insight into Faye & Aaron's amazing wedding day.

My mornings coverage began with Faye and her bridal party who were having their hair and make up done, at a room on the ground floor, over looking the Conwy river, with the gents only a few doors away. This meant I could flit between the two and maximise the photo opportunities

Faye & Aaron chose to have their ceremony in the larger of the two ceremony rooms with backdrops of Conwy Mountain, the Estuary and Conwy Marina. It was beautifully set up. After I had captured the detail, Aaron and the guests could make their way up to the room in preparation for the ceremony. Faye had one last request - an emotional dress reveal to her Dad, followed by some family photo's. The ceremony could now commence.

Congratulations to the newlyweds. The celebrations could begin down in the Ebb & Flow restaurant, which opened onto the terrace outdoors. The drinks reception is a great opportunity to capture those candid photo's that everyone loves, as well as a couples shoot and and remaining group photo's.

Meanwhile upstairs, the ceremony room was being transformed for the wedding breakfast and it looked beautiful. Check out the views from the balcony. It really is a stunning location.

My final photo to capture before settling for food is usually always the wedding rings and flowers. I was told I had a decent bit of time to relax until the speeches began, but Faye & Aaron's parents had other plans..... with a few special guests.....

Firstly, some Singing Waiters, which neither of them had any idea about. This always makes for great reactions and lots of fun filled photo opportunities.

After the chaos of the Singing Waiters, the wedding was back on track with the speeches, with some heart felt words and beautiful reactions. But, there was time for one last surprise...

For further information on Faye & Aaron's entertainment, please continue to the end of the blog, for a list of their suppliers. The evening allowed for more couples photo's on the lawns overlooking the estuary, before we were called in for the traditions of the cutting of the cake and the first dance. We ended the photography coverage with a stunning sunset shoot down on Deganwy Beach with the assistance of Aaron's daughter, who was a great help.

Check out this Before and After (with the help of a little AI to replace Aaron's daughter with the actual backdrop).

I’d like to wish Faye & Aaron a lifetime of happiness. Congratulations to you both and thanks so much for booking Nathan Roberts Photography to capture your special day. I had a lovely day celebrating and capturing your day with wonderful family and friends.
