Quay Hotel, Deganwy - Olivia & Dave
Back to one of my fave venues to work, with the team at the Quay Hotel & Spa, Deganwy. Today, the conditions couldn't have been any better, to celebrate the marriage of Olivia & Dave. Olivia prepped with her Bridesmaids and immediate family, in the Bridal Suite, whilst Dave and the Gents and guests embraced the sunshine at the bar, downstairs. A great place to admire the view of Conwy (above) across the estuary. I love it when a Bride and the Bridal Party are ready early. W

Thornton Hall - Alisha & Mark
Another new church and another new venue - Alisha & Mark's Wedding took place on the Wirral, flitting between Thornton Hall Hotel and Christ Church at Port Sunlight. One of the great things about my job is that I'm always working at new venues enabling me to discover new places. So I have now created a huge list of places that I can visit with my wife and baby, on a day off. Alisha and her huge Bridal Party prepared for the day at Thornton Hall Hotel, in the impressive 'Bri

Kinmel Hotel - Susannah & Tom
Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Price! This was a nice local shoot, about 5 minutes away from my home, in Abergele. The morning started at Susannah's family home, followed by St Michaels Church, then on to the Kinmel Hotel & Spa. All approximately within 1 mile of each other.
Less time on the road, means more time capturing the moments and emotion of the day! Whilst the emotional bridesmaids (especially Natasha in the middle) took some deep breaths and changed into their dr

Hawarden Castle Pavilion - Nikki & Jake
A day's worth of new venues had my creative juices flowing. This day offered lots of new opportunities. I began the day, feeling inspired. First stop, Soughton...to Nikki's family home to spend time capturing the Bridal Party who were a load of fun. Plus the venue was pretty amazing to photograph!!! Check out the interior Waterfall/ Wedding veil :-) The Gents meanwhile had been getting ready at Nikki & Jakes home in Handbridge, conveniently a few doors away from a local p

Highfield Hall - Emma & Chris
After a few weeks off , I was back to my Wedding Photography routine, following an exciting commercial shoot in North Carolina and a week celebrating my wife's 30th, on the Italian Riviera. It was a deserved rest before a busy week ahead of three local weddings. Emma & Chris's Wedding was first at Highfield Hall, near Northop, and it was great fun! The lovely bride, Emma, owns her own salon, and it was there where the Bridal Party prepared that morning. Steph Griffiths Make

Pentre Mawr - Gwenan & Derfel
As I always say - I love returning to Pentre Mawr Country House. You can't help but be in awe of the professionalism and hospitality of Bre, Graham & the team. Oh...and a huge bonus, Pentre Mawr is great to photograph. Even when the weather is as horrid as it was for Gwenan & Derfel's big day, the venue has so many various locations to take advantage of, regardless of the conditions. More delightful feedback from a great Bride & Groom. I loved every second of working with

Merrydale Manor - Kim & Adam
The first shoot of a very busy Wedding AND Commercial season for me, I had the honour of capturing a wedding at the splendid venue and grounds of Merrydale Manor, Over Peover, Knutsford. Kim & Adam were great fun to work with. Their family and friends were a joy to work amongst and the overall day, weather aside, was perfect. I love working at venues like Merrydale Manor, where you can prepare for bad weather, as the venue itself inside is just as beautiful! The gents arriv

Soughton Hall - Aimee & Richard
What a great time of year to have a wedding. Whilst most are feeling the Christmas Blues, in preparation to go back to work, Aimee and Richard were tying the knot at the incredible Soughton Hall. The shoot began at St. John's Church, Flint, for an early service. Aimee and Richard factored in the poor winter light and the fact that at this time of year, it's dark around 4pm. With an 11am ceremony, this allowed sufficient time for photograph's in the day light. Accompanied b

Using Sparklers for dramatic Wedding Photographs
This blog, explains, in full, the detail that goes into getting results at night using 'Off Camera Flash' and a Sparkler, to give epic results. I always welcome requests and example images from my clients, to use as inspiration. Aimee and Richard were married at Soughton Hall in early January and requested some photo's using sparklers. After capturing sparklers in use at other weddings, I wanted to create something more interesting and dramatic. EQUIPMENT USED: * Canon 5D M

Garthmyl Hall - Anwen & Rhys
"A grade-two listed Georgian Country House that simply oozes character and charm". (https://www.garthmylhall.co.uk/) "Oozes character and charm"? This place is unreal. This photograph is just the front of the building. Surrounding the main hall are Silver Birch woods, Giant Cedar tree's, manicured gardens complete with a water feature and quaint out houses. All before you arrive at the rustic green door hiding the stunning 'walled gardens' (below) - such a pleasant surpris
