Soughton Hall - Aimee & Richard

What a great time of year to have a wedding. Whilst most are feeling the Christmas Blues, in preparation to go back to work, Aimee and Richard were tying the knot at the incredible Soughton Hall.

The shoot began at St. John's Church, Flint, for an early service. Aimee and Richard factored in the poor winter light and the fact that at this time of year, it's dark around 4pm. With an 11am ceremony, this allowed sufficient time for photograph's in the day light.

Accompanied by a choir and Christmas decor, the ceremony commenced with a festive vibe.

Now pronounced 'Husband and Wife' I captured the iconic confetti shot before departing to Soughton Hall for the rest of the afternoon/evening, in convoy with 'Bespoked Wedding Cars' - stunning wedding cars, offering "1930's style and elegance for your wedding day".

Whilst the rest of the guests enjoyed a drink and canapes, I utilised the stunning grounds at Soughton Hall for some beautiful captures of the happy couple.

Aimee and Richard are naturals - they look great in front of the camera! Now to welcome the rest of the guests into the shots.

I'm particularly fond of this image. As I spend a lot of my spare time capturing landscapes on my travels, I often take several images of a landscape before stitching them together to create a panoramic. I wanted a different perspective to Soughton Hall, whilst capturing all of the guests within the shot. This image is 5 seperate captures 'merged' together, using Adobe Photoshop, to give a distorted appearance to the venue.

This was the last shot before Speeches and Wedding Breakfast.

I was looking forward to the photographs, post-wedding breakfast as Aimee and Richard were open to night shots with the use of 'off camera flash'......as well as a load of sparklers.

Note to anyone thinking of using sparklers at their wedding - the longer, the better. Sparkle duration is key!

To see how I captured and edited the images with the 'sparkler trails' please visit my other blog page: Using Sparklers for dramatic Wedding Photographs. The interior and decor at Soughton Hall is just as striking as the grounds themselves. We ended the wedding shoot by capturing the fine detail and some quirky 'Made In Chelsea-esque' photo's.

.....ending with an iconic 'Kiss under the Mistletoe', really showing the love.

Aimee, Richard, Family and Friends have been a joy to work with and I wish them every happiness in their lives together. For anyone that like my work, please spread the word, and if you are getting married at Soughton Hall, or any venue, anywhere in the world, please don't hesitate to contact me.

I'll leave you with a few kind words!
