The Barn - Emily & Nick

It's the variety of the journeys and locations and the people that I work with that makes the job so interesting and rewarding. I love the opportunity to travel to new venues, however, I do love the convenience of a local wedding. Emily and Nick celebrated their marriage in and around the St Asaph vicinity. I don't think at any one point throughout the whole day, was I any further than 3 miles away from my home....as the crow flies.

The morning began with Emily and the Bridal party at Scissor Trix Hair Salon, in Upper St Asaph, before the short ride to Emily & Nicks home to change for the day ahead.

Emily's dress looked great, supplied by Karen Lesley Bridal Emporium in Northop, North Wales. Emily requested that I stayed to capture her Dads reaction when revealing the dress. It was definitely worth the wait to capture his reaction....as well as a couple of cheeky peaks from the bridesmaids :-) It was then, that I left for the nearby Cefn Church, a beautiful village church completely surrounded by countryside with an assortment of Autumn colours all around.

An emotional Groom awaited our arrival. Nick, together with his Groomsmen had arrived early for a few photographs and to open a beautifully worded letter from the bride to be, Emily, before having to greet guests as they arrived.

Emily arrived, with her father in a luxurious Bentley and made her way through the sheltered grounds to marry Nick.

The weather conditions on the day gave me a lot to play with, combined with the autumnal colours and epic backdrops of the Clwydian Range leading to the sea. I had to consider the angles of the sun and how it illuminated the subjects from both the front and rear. Fortunately the sun lit both the Bridal Party and the Clwydian Range, which was perfect for a few bright and vibrant group photos at the Church.

The colours leading from the main road to the Faenol Fawr, and the reception location at 'The Barn', were even more vibrant. Here the guests waited for the arrival of the newly-weds. Some more group photo's, the Wedding Breakfast and Speeches followed.

Post Wedding Breakfast, all guests partook in a Quiz before evening guests arrived for the continuation of the Party..... and their were some incredible shapes thrown.

Sparklers were a beautiful way to sign off for the night after what was a great, great day.

I wish both Emily & Nick a lifetime of happiness together. I loved capturing their day with great friends and family. If you know of anyone that might be getting married at The Barn, Faenol Fawr or anywhere else in the world, and are in need of a wedding photographer to capture their day, please spread the word.

Congratulations Mr & Mrs James!!!
