Oriel Hotel - Sian & Chris
Only a few days until Christmas, so the venue is fully decorated for the festivities. It’s great to have the extra décor and extra content to photograph, all whilst contributing to the positive happy vibe of the Wedding Day.
The morning began with Sian and her Bridal Party preparing in the Bridal Suite, whilst Chris, their two sons and the Groomsmen, congregated in a separate room, at the other end of the venue.
I’d like to thank the 2 bridesmaids who assisted in suspending the Wedding dress on a piece of fishing line from the top of the stairs, so that it appeared to be floating next to the Christmas Tree. Some of these dresses aren’t light! Once, we had completed this, it was time for the “Dress Reveal”, before the short walk to the Ceremony Room, for the marriage………. And an emotional groom…..
With the party due to commence (including a few surprises – which will be revealed further down) the focus swayed to shots of the the Newly Weds, followed by some Group Shots.
And of course the speeches.
So, here’s the surprise. Sian, Chris and the Brides father kept everything under wraps pretty well, but it could have been a comedy wedding disaster. Two of the waiters were bogus hotel staff. One portrayed a calamitous waiter and the other, his horrible and bossy superior. The plan was for these two to clash, which in turn would make the wedding guests feel really uncomfortable. Not only did they do a great job of this, but I felt for the safety of “the horrible superior”, when guests became pretty angry at his attitude during this intimate family celebration. At just the right time, an announcement unveiled the two frauds as Singing Waiters, who erupted into song, to a rapture of laughter and relief. Here’s some evidence [hahahaha].
The rest of the evening was one great big Wedding celebration.
Whilst the rest of the Wedding Party danced the night away, Sian, Chris and I were able to slope off for a few photographs by the Christmas Tree, before ending the night with the First Dance.
I wish both Sian & Chris a lifetime of happiness together. I loved capturing their day with great friends and family. If you know of anyone that might be getting married at the Oriel Hotel or anywhere else in the world, and are in need of a wedding photographer to capture their day, please spread the word.
