Penbedw Estate - Elin & Dafydd

North Wales Wedding Photographer

"The magnificent Penbedw Wedding Yurt is both unique and beautiful in equal measure! Set in the old walled kitchen garden, and with stunning views over the estate parkland, it really is beautiful" [www.harthillweddings.co.uk]. There were many unique aspects of Elin & Dafydd's event, from this incredible venue, to "The Great Beattie (surname) Bakeoff", whereby guests brought along their very own bakes to be judged and consumed in the evening...plus much more!

During the Wedding preparation there was some beautiful reaction and emotion to Elin's unveiling of the dress. The location was perfect for photography - large floor to ceiling windows allowed an abundance of natural light in to show the soft detail and beauty of the bride and her bridesmaids.

Another unique element to the wedding was the layout at Capel y Dyffryn, Llandyrnog. This allowed me a huge variety of vantage points without feeling in the way of guests, which for me is key. We photographers should really be unseen (within reason) and unheard during the ceremony. The huge guest list sprawled out of the church for confetti shots before heading off to start the celebrations. Meanwhile, Elin & Dafydd, along with Andy Heckman, the Videographer, and I detoured to a beautiful small forested area, near Caerwys, to meet the beloved canines. Elin & Dafydd wanted to incorporate their dogs into a few of the photo's, so whilst trying to keep the dress as clean as possible we meandered along the tracks searching for backdrops - it was stunning!

The short journey to the yurt at Penbedw Estate was the last trip. All the guests were there to meet the happy couple, in the glorious sunshine, surrounded by vast greenery..... and a load of tents for guests to camp.

Before the Wedding Breakfast and Speeches there was time for a few photographs of Elin and the bridal party on the lawns. Although sunny, there was just enough cloud for a little drama to the skies, whilst blocking out the glare, which can often interfere with the exposure of a shot.

Inside the yurt, the fun had begun.....

The unique shape of the yurt meant that I had a clear view of pretty much all of the guests which enabled me these cracking shots of the reaction to the speeches. Also, similar to the wedding preparation in the morning, the light allowed into the room, was perfect.

Elin, Daf and their many guests danced into the night and took advantage of the celebrations! A Great day!

I wish both Elin & Dafydd a lifetime of happiness together. I loved capturing their day with great friends and family. If you know of anyone that might be getting married at Penbedw Estate or anywhere else in the world, and are in need of a wedding photographer to capture their day, please spread the word.

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Beattie!!!
