Quay Hotel & Spa - Hannah & Paul

It was a long drive back last night from Billesley Manor (see Leah & Bens blog), Stratford Upon Avon, and a long night having to ensure that I'd backed up the work and charged my camera kit in time for this mornings early rise. Fortunately Quay Hotel in Deganwy isn't far for me at all, and it's one of my regular and favourite venues to shoot. It was great to be back and to capture Hannah & Pauls big day.

It was a good day for it. It was warm, sunny spells all day, no wind or rain - you can't ask for much more than that for a UK wedding :-) My morning began in the bridal suite with Hannah and her bridal party, 3 hours before the ceremony.

How nice does the dress look? Hannah showed me an image of this particular dress on a model where the 'bride' was sat on the floor with the dress opened out around her. I wondered how we could make this work for Hannah and found a big open spot in front of the French doors of the balcony allowing some perfect natural light in..... and some amazing results.

On to the ceremony, where Paul waited anxiously for his beautiful bride.

Now officially Mr & Mrs Beesley, Hannah & Paul requested some couples shots at the nearby iconic Conwy Castle - I knew just the spot and once again, the conditions were perfect. It was also lovely to utilise my beloved campervan for a photograph :-)

If you look very carefully and know the area, you'll see the Quay Hotel & Spa underneath the bridge to the right of the above shot. Back at the hotel, we completed a few group shots before being summoned for speeches and wedding breakfast.

After completing the remaining group shots by the water features at the Quay, we kept an eye on the setting sun. It looked perfect and I was aware that the sun sets perfectly down the Conwy River, out to sea... so, suggested we head to Deganwy Beach for a sunset shoot, along with the videographer. The sunset was impeccable and with the happy bride and groom, a beautiful moment to capture.

Meanwhile back at 'the Quay', staff and suppliers had prepared the venue for the evening reception and the tradition of the first dance.

I wish both Hannah & Paul a lifetime of happiness together. I loved capturing their day with great friends and family. If you know of anyone that might be getting married at Quay Hotel & Spa, or anywhere else in the world, and are in need of a wedding photographer to capture their day, please spread the word.
