Pentre Mawr Country House - Joanne & Nick

Back with Bre, Graham and the team at Pentre Mawr Country House for this wedding. It's always an honour. Today I was to capture Joanne & Nick's special day with their loved ones. It was a beautiful warm spring morning. Perfect photography conditions for an outdoor wedding. The morning began at the Bridal cottage to photograph the wedding preparation. Nick and the groomsmen were getting ready in the country house nearby.

This is one of my fave pics of the year (above) so far. It makes me smile every time :-) Just before the ceremony, there was time for some group shots with the groomsmen before they took there place, ready for the ceremony. Meanwhile, the bridesmaids got to see Joanne in her dress with make up and hair styled for the first time. Now to get married!

The celebrations and drinks reception could now commence. Congratulations to Joanne & Nick - officially married. But first a quick confetti photo shoot followed by the big group shot, where I have to scale a roof (it's not as dangerous as it sounds).

There are so many places to photograph couples at Pentre Mawr. Beautiful landscapes, gardens, flowers, textures, architecture... all the good things that make good backdrops. I always try to utilise as many of these backdrops as I can throughout the day, for variety.

Meanwhile, back at the drinks reception, guests were enjoying themselves, the reception marquee's final touches were completed and an almighty grazing platter had been intricately prepared.

The attention to detail throughout this wedding was insane. D&D Occasions provided the flowers and decorated the marquee, which looked amazing!! Natalie Franklin created the cake, whilst Anglesey Hog roast provided the food. The guests were soon called in to make a start on the food and were greeted to the sound of the Rat Pack Boys.

With free time after the wedding breakfast and speeches, we took to the lawns for more photo's before the sun set. All the children joined us for a photo too.

Before I departed, there was time for some photo's of the evening reception which included the traditional cutting of the cake and first dance.... as well as the not so traditional (but hilarious) cake collapse, throwing back of the shot and the bridal jump failure - see below :-)

I’d like to wish Joanne & Nick a lifetime of happiness. Congratulations to you both and thanks so much for booking Nathan Roberts Photography to capture your special day. I had a lovely day celebrating and capturing your day with wonderful family and friends.
