Pentre Mawr Country House - Jess & Craig
Back to one of my favourite local locations - Pentre Mawr Country House. This time it was to capture all of the emotion and moments of Jess & Craig's special day. Here's an insight with a link to their suppliers at the end of the blog. Enjoy!
The forecast for the day was warm and dry in the morning with potential rainfall at the time of the ceremony. Fortunately at Pentre Mawr, you have the choice to marry indoors or outdoors. What would the weather be like at 2pm? I took advantage of these pleasant pre-ceremony conditions for outdoor photo's with the gents whilst Jess and her bridesmaids we're getting ready in the Bridal Cottage.
The heavens opened just as Jess was due to leave the Bridal Cottage so the whole wedding party shifted to the marquee so the ceremony could commence - It was a beautiful and emotional one.
Congratulations to the newly weds. It was time for the drinks reception and the celebrations could commence. With intermittent rain we would spend the reception flitting inside and out for photo opportunities, but we were treated to some beautiful results. Pentre Mawr to me, is great, for the fact there are so many locations and different backdrops, materials and textures to utilise.
We took advantage of the barn to keep everyone dry for the confetti photo and main 'big' group shot, all before guests were called for their Wedding Breakfast and Speeches.
We were also treated to Singing Waiters to entertain before the speeches took place. These are always great for reaction photographs, especially fun and laughter.
The free time in the evening allowed for another couples shoot and, as we'd had another downpour of rain, this gave me the chance to be creative. Especially with the huge puddles that had been created.
As if the Singing Waiters weren't enough entertainment, Jess & Craig had booked in Casino tables and a photo booth alongside the DJ to celebrate in the night. My coverage ended with sparklers in the barn, but first the traditions of the cutting of the cake and first dance.
