Melissa and Alex were married at Faenol Fawr in Bodelwydden, one of North Wales’ most established countryside wedding venues. With its historic manor house, landscaped grounds and relaxed layout, Faenol Fawr offers a fantastic range of backdrops throughout the day. Their wedding featured a dream outdoor ceremony, making full use of the beautiful surroundings and open space the venue provides.

Wedding Preparations at Faenol Fawr

Preparations took place on site, focusing on natural interaction and the quieter moments before the ceremony. Dress details, final alterations with family, and hair and makeup by Sophie Tindsley and Makeup by Mia all came together smoothly. Alex and the gents prepared downstairs, adjusting buttonholes and jackets before relaxed group and solo portraits ahead of the ceremony.

Outdoor Ceremony at Faenol Fawr

The ceremony took place outside within the grounds of Faenol Fawr, creating a relaxed and memorable setting. The entrance, vows, exchange of rings and first kiss were followed by the signing of the register with close family members before a celebratory exit.

Confetti followed immediately as the couple walked back down the aisle, leading into the main group photograph.

Drinks Reception & Portraits

Guests enjoyed drinks across the grounds while mingling in the sunshine. Melissa and Alex stepped away briefly for a couples shoot, making use of the venue’s gardens and surrounding landscape. Group photographs followed before guests were called inside.

Reception & Evening Celebrations

The wedding breakfast was served as a relaxed buffet, followed by speeches and time for guests to enjoy the evening celebrations. As the light softened, a short evening shoot created additional portraits before the cake cutting and first dance brought everyone to the dance floor.
