Faenol Fawr & Marble Church - Katie & Dan | North Wales Wedding Photographer

Katie and Dan were married on a bright spring day in May at Faenol Fawr, one of North Wales’ most well-regarded wedding venues. With its historic buildings, landscaped grounds and variety of on-site backdrops, Faenol Fawr is always a pleasure to work at. The team run the day seamlessly, allowing everything to flow naturally — something that suits a documentary approach perfectly.

Wedding Preparations at Faenol Fawr

Preparations took place on site, focusing on natural interaction and the quieter moments before the ceremony. Dress details, final adjustments, and hair and makeup by Jeniosa and Look Fabulous by Sinead all came together smoothly.

Ceremony at the Marble Church

The ceremony was held at the nearby Marble Church, a striking setting full of character. First, I captured portraits of Dan and his Groomsmen before Katie arrived in a classic car driven by her uncle. The entrance, vows, exchange of rings and first kiss were followed by the signing of the register. Guests then headed out into the sunshine to show their love to Katie & Dan.

Confetti, Drinks & Portraits

Confetti followed outside the church, before a short couples shoot in the doorway and a few group photographs. Back at Faenol Fawr, guests enjoyed drinks and canapés while Katie and Dan stepped away for a relaxed couples shoot, making use of the many locations around the venue. Group photographs and a main group shot followed, before guests moved into the barn to see the reception décor.

Reception & Evening

Speeches took place before the wedding breakfast, setting the tone for the rest of the day. As the evening arrived, remaining group shots and a short low-light shoot added variety, followed by a first dance and a quiet cake-cutting moment away from the dance floor.
