Hafod Farm - Aimee & Luke
It's been a couple of years since I last photographed a wedding at Hafod Farm and it was an absolute joy to be back. I love the wedding venue with it's stunning setting, and together with Aimee & Luke and their wedding party, we were in for a great day. Read on for an insight into their special day and for a list of the suppliers
My coverage began with wedding preparation, with Aimee and her Bridal Party in the main cottage. Luke and the gents were dressed early and congregated at the bar to welcome guests. Pre-wedding is also a great opportunity to capture all of the beautiful venue detail as well as the dress, shoes, jewellery, hair and make up and anything else significant to the day.
With the last few alterations done, Aimee made time for a dress reveal to her bridal party followed by her Dad, just as the heavens decided to open. Fortunately the ceremony was due to take place in the beautiful Wedding Barn.
Congratulations to the newlyweds after what was a stunning, and emotional, ceremony. Drinks were now served. This is always a lovely opportunity for those candid shots that everyone loves, of guests enjoying themselves. We were also treated to the arrival of a special guest - Aimee and Luke's four legged canine surprise guest. They had no idea :-)
With the rain still pouring outside we took advantage of the barn for group photo's and a short couples shoot. The room has so much character and was dressed so beautifully. I knew we'd get an opportunity for outdoor photo's at some point a little later.
Guests waited at their tables for Aimee & Luke's arrival at the reception barn. Each table was intricately set up with grazing platters prepared by Millie's Grazing platters. Speeches were to follow - one of my favourite parts of the day, but we spotted a gap in the rain, so darted outside for a quick couples shoot.
It didn't last long - the heavens opened again after a couple of minutes. So it was on to the speeches with some amazing reactions and emotion.
Whilst the tables were being cleared and with the venue now set up for the evening reception to begin, we took advantage of the tradition of the cutting of the cake before being called in for for the first dance.
I’d like to wish Aimee & Luke a lifetime of happiness. Congratulations to you both and thanks so much for booking Nathan Roberts Photography to capture your special day. I had a lovely day celebrating and capturing your day with wonderful family and friends.
