Combermere Abbey - Robyn & Joe

My final wedding shoot of 2021. I’ve been really looking forward to this wedding - and what a celebration it was!

Weeks before the wedding I took my 3 year old daughter out and about to complete recces of various venues that I’d not photographed at before (I always do this when photographing at new venues). Combermere Abbey is absolutely stunning with so many locations to photograph.

The morning began at the Bridal Cottage at the entrance of the grounds, with Robyn and her bridal party, working alongside some amazing wedding suppliers (see list of suppliers at the end of this blog).

We managed the time to flit the attention to Joe, his Groomsmen and close family at the nearby guest accommodation located in a picturesque courtyard. Every backdrop here at Combemere Abbey is stunning. I loved this huge archway for the gent’s group shots.

Back to Robyn who was now in her dress, with assistance from her sister Lois. This is one of my favourite photos of the morning – a quick glance up captured this natural bit of interaction. Dad arrived and with conditions, perfect outside, Robyn requested a ‘Dress reveal’ to her Dad, before jumping into the vintage cars together to another location on these enormous grounds – this time for the ceremony at the ‘Glass house’.

Arriving for the ceremony, I had some lovely opportunities for photos with incredible back drops as Robyn, her Dad and the bridesmaids had a long walk in the natural light before meandering through a maze and finally, the Glass house. What a beautiful ceremony.

Together with the videographer we were led straight outside after the ceremony for a huge main group shot of all of the guests, followed by confetti – loads of confetti.

After the group shots, which included some dramatic smoke grenades, Robyn, Joe, the Videographer and I were chauffeured to the main ‘North Wing’ next to the ‘Mere’ for a personal couples shoot in the wedding car.

Arriving back for the remainder of the drinks reception, guests were being seated for the Wedding Breakfast where we treated to yet more entertainment and photo opportunities after the speeches, with ‘Singing Waiters’. Always great for photos.

With the winter sun now set, it was time for yet more beautiful photo opportunities with Sparklers, followed by a stunning Firework display.

After the traditional cutting of the cake and first dance it was time to hit the road, and to reflect and what was an amazing day.

I’d like to wish Robyn & Joe a lifetime of happiness. Congratulations to you both and thanks so much for booking Nathan Roberts Photography to capture your special day. I had a lovely day celebrating and capturing your day with wonderful family and friends.
