Colshaw Hall - Charlotte & Josh

What a day this was. I had looked forward to this wedding all year. I met Charlotte & Josh as guests at a friends wedding the year before and had a great time with them. I was so happy when they asked me to capture their special day... and at the stunning Colshaw Hall. This place is amazing! Check out this blog for an insight into Charlotte & Josh's wedding. Be inspired! A list of their suppliers can be found at the end of this blog.

The morning began in the main house with Charlotte and their Bridal Party who were having their hair and make up done by the amazing Look Fabulous by Sinead. The ladies had their very own Makeup Lounge, whilst the Gents were getting ready in a separate building on site, called The Den. Incidentally, today I had the honour of working with Memory Box Films, who I would highly recommend - great to work with and great at what they do.

This is the Stables Ceremony Room - an elegant, light and spacious room, dedicated to civil ceremonies. Charlotte & Josh had it beautifully decorated. There so much natural light flooding into the Stables that its an absolute joy to photograph.

Meanwhile, back at the Den...

Josh and the gents were ready and made their way over to the bar to welcome guests, whilst Charlotte was fitted into her dress before a beautiful couple of dress reveals.

What more could I need - a beautiful bride in front of a grand mirror with loads of natural light flooding in from the high windows onto an open staircase. Combine that with an incredible dress and veil (from Dotty Bridal, Holmfirth) and the most amazing flowers by Folky Dokey and we had the perfect scenario for a bridal shoot.

With all guests now sat in the Stables, the ceremony could commence..

Congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs Maun-Townley. The celebrations could now begin - on to the drinks reception, where we took advantage of the beautiful conditions for group photo's and a couple shoot. But first, confetti.

Inside, the Grand Suite was ready to welcome guests in for the wedding breakfast and speeches. How beautiful does this room look!!

With the speeches done and the cake cut, which was expertly created by Charlotte's sister, there was more time to mingle on the lawns before the evening reception began. So, this made for more photo's wondering the grounds of Colshaw Hall.

Personally, I love these shots (above). This venue and the conditions on the day, allowed for me to be extra creative. We took advantage of the reflection of the pond and the awesome backdrop of the main hall from the woods, with a little 'off-camera flash', which made for some great results. All before the evening reception commenced back at the 'Grand Suite'.

I’d like to wish Charlotte & Josh a lifetime of happiness. Congratulations to you both and thanks so much for booking Nathan Roberts Photography to capture your special day. I had a lovely day celebrating and capturing your day with wonderful family and friends. I personally look forward to hanging out together in the future.
