Chateau Rhianfa - Sarah & Oscar
This was my first opportunity photographing a wedding at the iconic Chateau Rhianfa on the stunning Isle of Anglesey/ Ynys Mon - a Grade II listed Château on the banks of the Menai Strait.
I was fortunate to meet Oscar & Sarah a year earlier during their Pre-Wedding/ Engagement shoot at the idyllic Rhos on Sea, on a fine summers day. We met at nearby on the morning of the wedding at Sarah's family home to capture the Wedding Preparation, with the very talented Cassie M Bridal doing the hair and make up for the bridal party.
NB: Please note that my branding changed between these two separate shoots from 'NR Imagery' to 'Nathan Roberts Photography'.
On to the ceremony at St Trillo's Church, Rhos on Sea, where Sarah was walked down the aisle by her very proud father.
We took the opportunity to utilise the backdrop of the church, for photographs, just as Sarah's parents did, on their very own wedding day. The journey west to Menai Bridge followed, to Chatuau Rhianfa, with a load of character and locations to shoot, both indoors and outdoors. I've looked forward to this.
Once Sarah & Oscar arrived, the heavens opened. Instead of waiting for the weather to pass, we took advantage of the incredible indoor options. Weather sadly, is one of the few things we can't control on a wedding day, but when you choose a venue with such stunning indoor settings, it's a massive help.
Whilst photographing the ambient settings and decor for the wedding breakfast, I took a moment to absorb the views across the Menai Straits, towards the Snowdonia Mountain Range, which was obscured by the huge storm clouds - what an amazing setting!!
The rest of the evening consisted of an evening meal with speeches, with a night time outdoor shoot (now that the rain had stopped) using 'off camera flash', followed by the reception.
I wish both Sarah & Oscar a lifetime of happiness together. I loved capturing their day with great friends and family.
